2007 production
Dancers and choreographers above all, Yann Lheureux and Eric Languet, each place their concern for territory at the heart of their companies. It is in 2007 that they set up a duet, motivated by the wish to bring their practices together and to be confronted to the physicality of various places. This piece is a nomadic duet that can be performed on a proscenium stage or in unusual places, whether indoors or outdoors. The question here is less to adapt to these places, than to make them resonate in another way. In an increasingly repressive society, dancing and provoking someone else’s gaze is a vital reaction. “I don’t do kissing” is fuelled by a certain type of curiosity, a wish to feel and smell the environment. Without stops or jerks, on-site improvisation gives sensuality and playfulness to this hand-to-hand struggle, fuelled by delirious injunctions on the microphone. At times surprising, at others gripping, the encounter gives way to suspended moments.
