The perfect instant

2008 production

In L'Instant Parfait-The perfect instant, 3 cracked characters weave ambiguous relationships around an old lady at the twilight of her life.
Too difficult to think about the frailness of every instant, the deadly thought par excellence, a thought capable of leading one to a stillness that announces our own death.

Our last resort is to run, following Forest Gumpís example, in order to find the strength to continue: a substitute answer to the anxiety of being mortal. Unless we forget that strength is context-related: strength only exists because there is weakness, power only exists in a relationship to the vulnerability; solidness only exists as an appearance and for only a certain span of time. To settle down in time: thereís the tragedy (ìto die, such overdone business...î Jacques Brel used to sing).

So we conjure up absolute truths that give a meaning to our own theatre of nothingness: God, perfection, truths that appear all the more credible that we invented them ourselves.
We can also stop sometimes and taste this perfect instant, whose lightness is so close to our own depth that it still draws a few tears of forgetfulness from us.
