I didn’t mean to…?
Soraya Thomas
2009 Production
Inspired by Koffi Kwahule’s play «Jaz», «J’ai pas cherché…?» presents the encounter and confrontation of a man and a woman, who are unwillingly embarked on a complex human adventure. In turn sensual and brutal, the dance possesses bodies powerfully in a stripped-down set. Supported by in-depth work on sound as counterpoint, the choreography exposes itself to the spectator’s gaze under white lights. It is hard to emerge unscathed by this disturbing and accomplished piece.
